There was a time before cardboard boxes and plastic containers, when wicker baskets were used to hold and transport all kinds of goods. A hand-woven wicker basket is both completely utilitarian and beautiful to look at; a plastic storage bin is not.

Rajiv loves using old wicker baskets on a regular basis; he has one for laundry, there's one strapped to the back of his bike, and he totes around a lidded one when shopping at the farmer's market.
