North Sea to Adriatic Cycle Tour: Ep 8 - Cyclovia Alpe Adria Radweg (CAAR) - Salzburg to Möllbrücke

Now 39 cycle days into our tour, we're thrilled to be starting the Cyclovia Alpe Adria Radweg (CAAR) which will lead us through the Alps and eventually into Italy. This episode covers the first three days in Austria as we travel through the idyllic Salzach Valley, the wild and romantic Gastein Valley, the high mountain landscape of the Hohe Tauern and the Tauern rail tunnel that takes all the pain out of traversing these beautiful peaks! The route follows the Tauern Radweg initially, then part of EV 7 and the R8 along the Moll River.
This episode starts in Salzburg and ends in a campground in the small community of Mollbruck, just west of Spittal.
The route is very popular as you will see, well signposted and the scenery will speak for itself!

We used Bikeline's "Alpe Adria Radweg" book, unfortunately still not available in english (it's in german) but the maps are still very good and show all the campgrounds and points of interest.
