Three times he had taken a no-hitter into the ninth inning, and five times he finished a game with only one hit allowed. Yet for all his accomplishments, the Cooperstown-bound hurler was unable to bag his own personal white whale in the form of a complete game no-no. All of that changed on one night in the middle of June.
