Gastrocnemius Muscle
Origin: Medial Condyle of Femur & superior to articular surface of Lateral Condyle of Femur.
Insertion: Achilles Tendon into posterior aspect of Calcaneus
Innervation: Tibia Nerve, a branch of sciatic nerve. (S1,S2)
Action: Plantar Flexion & Knee Flexion

Soleus
Origin: Fibula & medial border of Tibia (Soleal Line)
Insertion: Achilles Tendon
Innervation: Tibial Nerve
Action: Plantar Flexion

Achilles Tendon AKA Calcaneal Tendon
Thickest tendon in the body.
Tendons are strong flexible bands of fibrous tissue that function to connect muscles to bones.
