The Rebellious Daughter Of Queen Victoria

Описание к видео The Rebellious Daughter Of Queen Victoria

Victoria and Albert had nine children together. These children would go on to create many of the leading royal families in Europe and change the face of history. But one child, princess Louise, made her mother think she would be different the moment she came into this world. 1848 was the year Europes age of revolutions began and it was also the year that princess Louise was born. When Queen Victoria gave birth to her daughter, she immediately knew that Louise would be “ something peculiar” and she was right.

Victoria by this point had given birth five times and when it came to the birth of Louise, she didn’t want to go through the excruciating pain of labour and child birth again. So Victoria defied all her advisors and opted for a controversial new treatment and form of pain relief, chloroform. Victoria said “ it made labour delightful” because well, chloroform made her a little high on the remedy.

As Louise got older, she became a little firecracker. She defied the rules that children should be seen and not heard and she was too inquisitive for the liking of the family. Louise was giving the nickname little miss why because she asked too many questions and the more Louise matured, the more she rebelled against the grain and the standards and expectations she had placed upon her.
