Iqbal Chagla said that Nani Palkhiwala was perhaps the greatest advocate that he has known. "He could make the most complicated, abstruse question of law, appear totally simple to the most obtuse judge, opponents and to oneself. His greatest ability was to make things simple and self-evident. He made the judge want to decide in his favour".

He also said that Nani Palkhivala would give credit to the junior who had worked on the case, and ensure that he mentioned to the judge that it was the junior who did the work.
