Muir Woods National Monument is just north of San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and is one of the few areas California hiking areas that preserved massive "old growth" redwood trees. The Muir Woods park is accessible for old and young alike so the main trails can get busy with hikers, walkers and strollers. We show you the best ways to get to Muir Woods and get around the park.

We show you the transportation options and give multiple tips on experiencing Muir Woods along with some redwood tree information. We show you several hiking trails and take a 2 mile loop hike along redwood creek including hillside trail experiencing Founders Grove, Cathedral grove, centennial tree and much more. We show you the Canopy view trail and Fern Creek trail that lead to Panoramic Hwy and a special secret across from Mountain house inn.

This may not be the best park for forest meditation (Also known as Forest Bathing) but the beauty and majestic feel are awesome. We give some local tips on serene redwood tree forest bathing in San Francisco.
