Xiaomi, a global tech manufacturer has finally unveiled its first-ever all-electric sedan, the SU7 internationally. The sedan was recently showcased at the brand’s EV Technology Launch event in Beijing, China.
The Xiaomi SU700 will be offered in three variants, namely, SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max.
Up front, the aggressive headlights seem to take inspiration from McLaren supercars like the 750S. The rear is distinguished by slender wraparound taillights joined by an LED light bar. Higher trim levels feature an active rear wing and lidar sensors. Its 19 and 20-inch wheels add to the sporty stance.
The Xiaomi SU7, an electric sedan with four doors, has dimensions of 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and a height of up to 1,455 mm. It features a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
As for the interior, it’s a pretty simple dashboard layout that sees a 16.1-inch touchscreen with 3K resolution taking center stage. Xiaomi opted to retain some physical controls for various vehicle functions, and you can find them on the center console and steering wheel.
There’s also a small digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver that rotates into view a la Bentley, and the entire infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 system-on-chip (SoC). Xiaomi’s HyperOS is the software that drives the infotainment system, which surprisingly supports Apple CarPlay and AirPlay.
The good relations with Apple continue in the rear of the cabin, as there are dedicated mounting points behind the front seat headrests to mount an iPad, which can be used control various vehicle functions such as air-conditioning, seats and media playback.
The SU7 also packs some serious tech like highway driving assists, self-driving features, and car summoning. This taps into inputs from 1 lidar, 3 radars, 11 HD cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. City self-driving capability is planned down the road too.
The Porsche Panamera is entering its third model generation. The sports car manufacturer's luxury sedan emphasises its sporting character with even more powerful drive systems. The profile is enhanced by a fundamentally modernised operating concept and plenty of innovative technology.
The new Panamera already comes with dual-chamber two-valve air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. The two-valve technology separates the rebound and compression stages of the damper control and therefore offers an even wider range between comfort and sportiness: the system noticeably dampens impacts from transverse joints and road damage while at the same time ensuring more body stability in dynamic driving situations. The car’s handling can be further improved thanks to optional all-wheel steering.
Porsche offers a total of four efficient E-Hybrid powertrains for the new Panamera, in response to the high demand for this type of drive system. All E-Hybrid variants benefit from greater performance, range and efficiency. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid is ready at market launch. The heart of its powertrain is a fundamentally revised four-litre V8 turbo engine. The output of the newly developed electric motor is 140 kW (190 PS). Together, they create a system output of 500 kW (680 PS). The system torque reaches an impressive 930 Nm. Porsche integrates the electric motor into the housing of the comprehensively redesigned eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
