Gen. Vance charged with obstruction of justice following military probe into misconduct allegations

Gen. Jonathan Vance, Canada's former top soldier, has been criminally charged following a military investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against him.

In court documents obtained by Global News, military police allege the former chief of defence staff told Maj. Kellie Brennan to lie about their relationship to police.

Global News first called Vance in February to ask him about his relationship with Brennan, and he denied anything inappropriate at the time. Mercedes Stephenson explains the significance of the obstruction of justice charge he now faces.
