The highlights of our recent visit to Noosa were starting the day wandering through the Noosa National Park to the Fairy Pools and exploring Hastings Street and Main Beach in the heart of Noosa. On Sunday morning, we went to the Noosa Farmers Market, we walked along the Noosa River and took a boat ride down the Noosa Everglades.

We started our walk to the Fairy Pools from the Noosa National Park carpark and wandered along the coastal trail. This fantastic trail has boardwalk sections, coastal lookouts, and beautiful views. The headland section of the Noosa National Park is one of Australia’s most popular National parks, and the coastal trail is the most popular walk, so it can get pretty busy.

We followed the track past Tea Tree Bay and Dolphin Point towards Granite Bay. At the end of Granite Bay, there is a bench seat near where the track turns right around a large bend. Here, you leave the track and climb down the rocks to the two rock pools below.

The best time to see and swim in the Fairy Pools is at low tide; take care climbing down the sharp rocks to access the pools and be aware of the tides and swell if you are swimming. This walk is approximately 5 kilometres return and takes about 45 minutes.

Hastings Street is Noosa's premier shopping and dining precinct, and it is also where you will find the Visitor Centre. This lovely tree-lined street has a fantastic selection of fashion and homeware boutiques, cafes, restaurants and art galleries and is the perfect place to indulge in retail therapy or enjoy a delicious meal.

Behind Hastings Street, you will find Noosa’s Main Beach. This is one of the only north-facing beaches on the east coast of Australia, and it is calm on most days. Main Beach is one of Australia’s favourite tourist destinations, and this stunning 1.2-kilometre beach is patrolled by surf lifesavers 365 days a year.

The Noosa Farmers Markets is held every Sunday morning from 6.00 am to midday under the trees at the Noosa AFL Club on Weyba Road Noosaville.

Here, you will find many different types of stalls with some of the finest and freshest produce from the Noosa Region. From fresh organic produce, homemade sauces and marinades, aromatic skincare, nuts, olives, fruits, freshly baked bread, and so much more. It’s also an excellent place for breakfast or brunch with local coffee and a huge selection of food vendors.

The Noosa River is a 40-kilometre pristine waterway that winds through the heart of Noosa. You can take a scenic river cruise, hire a stand-up paddleboard, or wander along the riverbank. The Noosa River is also dotted with waterfront restaurants and cafes, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a coffee or a lovely meal.

From Habitat Noosa, we hired a small tinny to take a leisurely boat ride down the Noosa Everglades. There are only two Everglades in the world, and the other one is in Florida.

We enjoyed meandering down the tea-tree-infused waterways lined with ancient rainforests. The Everglades are nicknamed the ‘River of Mirrors,” and they provide stunning photo opportunities and a lovely relaxing boat ride. You can also kayak or take a boat cruise with Eco Everglades Safari to the Everglades.
