KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman will strengthen border security nationwide during the movement control order (MCO), says Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.  The Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order director said the number of personnel at border checkpoints would also be increased, especially at the northern border with Thailand.  "At present, a total of 2,197 General Operations Force (GOF) personnel are stationed at various borders nationwide, which is 50% higher than before.  "A total of 4,900 GOF personnel are also deployed to state contingents to assist in manning road blocks and perform checks on premises during the MCO," he told a press conference on Wednesday (April 8).  Comm Acryl said patrols along Malaysian waters would also be coordinated with Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and the navy to prevent the smuggling of illegal immigrants.  "We will focus on several parts in Johor, including Pontian.  "Elements within the police force will also work togethe ...
