While Maharashtra and Karnataka are receiving heavy rainfall, Northern India lies parched post some rainfall last week. With food inflation on the rise, the RBI and government are banking on a good monsoon to ease the rising prices. But with rainfall deficit in June, it's the Kharif crops which may face setbacks. Dr. RK Jenamani, Scientist at IMD explains the monsoon patterns in India.
