2 Things to Fix Wobble

Описание к видео 2 Things to Fix Wobble

In this video I talk about 2 things I've specifically learned to minimize or eliminate wobble in the disc golf backhand throw.

Issue 1 - Not a clean release.

Issue 2 - Not enough spin.

Fix 1 - Keep the disc on the swing path during the throw. It needs to be "on-plane" at least by the time it's passing through the power pocket, through to disc release. But I advocate for keeping it on the plane through as much of the forward swing as possible. In my case my throwing arm "swoops" during the swing. But other reasons could be incorrect grip, rotating the wrist during the swing if there is no swoop, or rotating the arm at the shoulder during the swing. I believe I have a little bit of that, as well, and my body doesn't correct itself during the throw. That said, what I'm focusing on more is moving the shoulder out, instead of up, and the elbow out, instead of down.

Fix 2 - Curl or cock the wrist slightly during the throw - specifically while the disc is passing through the power pocket, through to release. It could be extended during the peak of the backswing, but preferably it's curled by the time the disc reaches the power pocket. This is more to ensure enough spin on the disc, so it's gyroscopically stabilized during flight. My fix here is to ensure the wrist is curled during the swing - especially in the last part of the swing (the out motion prior to release).

I don't claim to have all the answers, and I hope I'm explaining my findings well enough here. That said, I welcome constructive criticism, and hopefully what I'm learning and sharing helps others.
