Brain ventricles and CSF are correlated. Brain ventricles are found in each part of the CNS. Brain ventricles are filled with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

There are 4 interconnected ventricles in the brain:
2 lateral ventricles
1 third ventricle
1 fourth ventricle

A lateral ventricles are located deep within each cerebral hemisphere. Each lateral ventricle communicates with the third ventricle via an interventricular foramen (foramen of Monroe). The third ventrile is found in the middle within the diencephalon and communicates with the fourth ventricle via the cerebral aqueduct (of Sylvius), which passes through the midbrain. Th e fourth ventricle is located be-tween the dorsal surfaces of the pons and upper medulla and the ventral surface of the cerebellum. Th e fourth ventricle is continuous with the central canal of the lower medulla and spinal cord
