Turning Red is another Pixar film to feature an original story and characters - and subsequently, another movie from the studio that Disney has decided to dump on Disney Plus instead of releasing in movie theaters. With this trend continuing from Soul and Luca, while movies like Raya and the Last Dragon & Encanto get theaterical releases, it seems clear that Disney no longer respects or values Pixar as much as they once did. Is there hope for new ideas, or will only sequels spin-offs like Lightyear make it onto the big screen? Are we seeing the death of Pixar theater releases?
