The Buzz: Online GIS Map Gallery

​The county’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Division has now made it a little easier for people to access maps, information and analytical tools to learn more about Prince William County.

The division has pulled together data from information compiled from aerial photography, developer surveys and satellite data to create a map gallery that residents can use to access all of the geographic information the county has on hand, said Malcolm Echaluce, a GIS Applications Developer. “The reason why we decided to have this map gallery is so that citizens have a one-stop shop for all web maps and mapping applications that the county has. The gallery will have existing mapping applications, as well as new applications that we created.”

The gallery will give residents who use the system tools that are easy to use and information that’s up-to-date.
