GOD IS IN CONTROL - The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (June 20, 2021)

Today is the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time; and the Gospel presents to us Jesus commanding the wind and sea to be quiet and still. Jesus and his disciples were crossing the sea after a day of preaching to the crowds.
And while sailing, a “violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat.” The disciples were of course frightened. But Jesus was asleep, so they woke him up: “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
“Quiet! Be still!” said the Lord to the wind and sea and there was calm.
Friends, when storms of life toss us here and there—do we have the courage to approach Jesus? Do we have faith that he is in control of these storms?
