In this video Trevor is telling us the difference between gas and electric patio heaters. With fall right around the corner it's a MUST to have some patio heaters to extend our outdoor time before winter. There are a lot of misconceptions about electric vs gas heat and Trevor puts the heat from both units to the test!

Gas heat is a very popular choice for patio heaters. Gas heat has some pro's like it can be cheaper to install depending where you are. Here in Colorado getting a natural gas patio heater installed will be cheaper to install. This does not apply for everywhere, but specifically Colorado. Another plus is that gas patio heaters can be mobile. In the video you see our Dimplex and Bromic units that can be easily wheeled around. The only problem with portable heaters is the price of propane which cant get very expensive!

Electric heat is our preferred patio heaters. Electric patio heaters can be installed both inside and outside unlike gas heaters. Being able to have electric heat in an enclosed environment is a huge game changer. While electric will probably cost more to install you will save money in the long run as compared to portable gas heat. Another benefit with electric heat is that it heats objects. Gas seems to not heat as well if there is a gust of wind that takes the heat away. One con of electric heat is that there is no portable heater yet! We have the eclipse electrical heater and while its portable it's very large and kind of hard to move.
