"If I may, for future reference on this topic, and because I'm responsible to DIPG awareness and also H.Res.69, DIPG is a common brain cancer, and we need the press's help in dispelling the irrelevance and obscurity that stifles pediatric brain cancer. It's been referred to historically in the press as a very rare brain cancer, but nothing could be further from the truth. If your child gets a brain tumor, and brain cancer is #1 for childhood cancer incidence, only slightly edging out leukemia, it will be most likely medullablastoma or the dreaded DIPG. DIPG is one of the most common pediatric brain cancers. None of them are good; and all childhood cancers are marginalized as rare; every genetic disease, anything that is less than 200,000 people a year. And rare says nothing about continued incidence...it's a flawed definition the NIH uses--for people, perhaps not for pharma.

It's brain cancer awareness month, and we would appreciate so much the opportunity to share something about it, our community's leadership in the national movement now for DIPG Awareness Day May 17. Our local Vasquez High School is the only community group which helps to raise funds for Jack's Angels--every year since 2013--and we owe our continued mission to them. I hope that we might honor them, and our National DIPG Awareness REsolution in a brief KHTS spot on the air.

Jack's Angels has also been hosting a weekly internet radio show on TogiNet.com, Thursdays at 1pm Pacific as a free awareness platform for the global childhood cancer community."
