Daredevils RPG | Making a Character for Pulp Tabletop Role-Playing Set in the 1930s

In this video we will take a look at the process of making a character for use with the Daredevils tabletop role-playing game, from Fantasy Games Unlimited. This is one of three games, along with Aftermath! and Bushido, that use the Basic Chance of Success system developed by Robert N. Charrette and Paul Hume. The game is skill-based, rather than class-based; and, focuses on providing players with a system for running pulp adventures that are set in the 1930s.

While the ways that the attributes and skills used by the characters are calculated may seem somewhat complicated, the character's statistics are stable once established, which makes it relatively easy to use them appropriately during play. In a future video, we will look at time management, combat, and damage/healing processes.; following that, we will look at more optional rules for including more supernatural aspects to the game, as well as how to conduct pulp adventures set in the 1930s.
