India's First Crowdfunded Film Manthan Receives Standing Ovation At Cannes Film Festival

Shyam Benegal's masterpiece ‘Manthan’ was screened at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The 1976 Indian classic stars Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, Smita Patil, and Amrish Puri. Photos from the screening featuring Naseeruddin Shah and his wife-actor Ratna Pathak Shah, along with Smita Patil's actor-son Prateik Babbar, and Verghese Kurien's daughter, Nirmala Kurien, have emerged online.
After the film's screening, the entire cast got a standing ovation from the audience who appreciated the film. Prateik shared the video of the overwhelming moment on his Instagram story.
