Originally commissioned by Million Winds Philharmonic, specifically for the quartet of clarinet members.
I) Woof-Woof—This movement centers on very low bass sounds, exploring a range of tonal qualities from subsonic vibrations to high partials. It playfully mimics the aesthetics of acousmatic music (typically designed for speakers) using acoustic wind instruments instead.
II) Zoom Zoom—In this section, more traditional musical elements emerge, featuring melodies and harmonies that evoke electronic sound processing techniques like granulation. The pitch variations create a dynamic melodic structure, allowing all four instruments to interact with the ensemble through the use of "granular" sounds, akin to bisbigliando technique.
III: Boom-Boom—The final movement blends elements of rock, hip-hop, and popular culture music with rhythmic bass lines, evoking a festive atmosphere suitable for parties. The piece concludes with a sense of joy and celebration.
