Born in the late 1960s, MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multiprogramming System) was the second database technology and tightly coupled a procedural language with a hierarchical key-value database. XML and JSON both map intuitively onto the hierarchical key-value database, known today as M, which is widely used in mission-critical applications like core-banking and electronic health records. YottaDB (https://yottadb.com) tightly couples an M database with multiple programming language APIs and is likely the fastest key-value database on Linux.

What is #DocumentDatabaseCommunity ?

We are a global network of passionate developers who work in the NoSQL Document Database environment. We talk about technology challenges, assist in the emergence and development of techniques, and popularize solutions in the document database space, no matter whether they are open-source or proprietary. The goals of the DDC are to present new technologies, highlight alternatives and unite Document Database developers and users. We are just getting started but we have big plans for the future.
