Look out for these red flags when sourcing local inspectors 🚩

1️⃣ If they have an answer that’s less than 2 hours, turn the other way! They can’t perform a detailed inspection if it’s under 2 hours.

2️⃣ If your inspector says they do remediation, it’s an automatic red flag. Performing inspections and remediation is a conflict of interest. In some states, it’s illegal to conduct both inspections and remediation.

3️⃣ If they say, “Mold needs water, so if an area is dry, then there can’t be a problem,” then they don’t know what they’re talking about. Mold needs water to grow; it doesn’t need water to remain. Meaning if mold grew as a result of a previous leak or water event and it wasn’t properly remediated, it will stay and continue to impact the living space.
