“I Worked So Hard…But Earned TERRIBLE Money” | Undercover At Deliveroo

Consumer Journalist Harry Wallop became a Deliveroo driver to find out what it is really like to work there.

He decided to go undercover and investigate, as drivers at the fast food ordering platform and other rival platforms went on strike complaining about terrible working conditions and pay.

Mike Graham wonders what sort of employment contracts are given out by Deliveroo, Harry Wallop says: “it's virtually a zero hours contract.”

Wallop adds that Deliveroo says drivers earn at least minimum wage, but fail to say that it's only while you are on a delivery job, and not waiting for one - in reality earning less than the minimum wage.

He says, “I worked so hard, accepted all orders that came through but earned terrible amounts of money.”
