ALWAYS DO THIS FIRST when buying MTH O Scale locomotives

Описание к видео ALWAYS DO THIS FIRST when buying MTH O Scale locomotives

Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you. Whenever a new MTH locomotive finds its way to your layout, ALWAYS lubricate the drive idlers with gear oil (I use Excel and Labelle) and more importantly... lubricate the worm gear and primary drive gear inside the truck. I've noticed more and more of my new locomotives have little to no grease inside the trucks and this will spell disaster, long term. How to keep your model trains in top shape.

In more pleasant developments... I decided to pull some new (to me) MTH 3v PS 2.0 locomotives off the shelf for the first time. I've had these for over a year and haven't run them. Today we conquer the grades at Logan's Pass and Little Mountain with tail-end help from an ES44AC!

The Lake Erie & Midwestern Railroad is a free-lanced O Scale model railroad that takes place over the last 50 years, or so. Set in the Midwest, between Chicago and Pittsburgh, the majority of action occurs in the triangle between Toledo, Cleveland and Columbus, OH. You can find modern fast freights with 6-axle GE and EMD diesels in consist as often as old Alco and Baldwin switchers shoving freight around the spurs to the various industries. It's a great hobby and we're excited to share the progress on the construction of our layout with you.

The GE AC4400CW, sometimes referred as "AC44CW" is a 4,400 horsepower (3,300 kW) diesel-electric locomotive that was built by GE Transportation Systems between 1993 and 2004. It is like the Dash 9-44CW, but features AC traction motors instead of DC, with a separate inverter per motor.

The Evolution Series is a line of diesel locomotives built by GE Transportation Systems (now owned by Wabtec), initially designed to meet the U.S. EPA's Tier 2 locomotive emissions standards that took effect in 2005. The line is the direct successor to the GE Dash 9 Series. The first pre-production units were built in 2003. Evolution Series locomotives are equipped with either AC or DC traction motors, depending on the customer's preference. All are powered by the GE GEVO engine. The Evolution Series locomotives are some of the best-selling and most successful freight locomotives in United States history. (wiki)

BNSF Railway (reporting mark BNSF) is the largest freight railroad in the United States. One of six North American Class I railroads, BNSF has 36,000 employees,[1] 33,400 miles (53,800 km) of track in 28 states, and over 8,000 locomotives.[2] It has three transcontinental routes that provide rail connections between the western and eastern United States. BNSF trains traveled over 169 million miles (272 million kilometers) in 2010, more than any other North American railroad. (wiki)
