About the song:
Front woman Nadene explains, "While the song began as a comment on the challenges of a long term relationship loosing its passion and spark, the meaning changed for me after a conversation with our guitarist, Matt. He asked me if the song was about feeling disillusioned with pursuing a career as an artist. Since then I have looked at it with fresh eyes and really resonate with the new meaning. Turning a passion into a job and feeling the weight of uncertainty, instability and lack of free time is incredibly scary and a reality faced by many artists. While it is not an easy path, I am forever grateful for the experiences and opportunities that music has offered and the meaningful relationships that have been built from the common thread of a love for music. Cooling embers represents for me the moments of uncertainty but also the drive to continue finding the things that make me feel inspired and connected to the people I get the opportunity to share the experience with."
