Two Brothers Alone in the Wilderness - Pending Danger in the Heavy Rain. Lake Superior bound -before our road trip, outfitting for true wilderness travel was needed for our solo portaging adventure, deep into the bush of Lake Superior's north shore country. My brother Ted Baird and I had a remote, wild camping adventure in store. We'd be soloing whitewater and fishing for wild trout while canoeing down the seldom-travelled East Pukaskwa River. The river's mouth feeds Lake Superior along the most remote stretch of coastline in all of the Great Lakes. From there, we'd follow the north shore for 80 kilometres to reach the road system to complete our trip in Michipicoten, Ontario. If all is to go well, we'd finish in 11 days....but as it turns out, Mother Nature had some interesting plans in store for us.
