This is just about the rarest car you will see this year! This is a beautiful 1980 Alpine Renault A310 V6, RIght Hand Drive, One of only a handful ever converted! She is finished in Alpine Blue, the only colour she should be! A German delivered car from new she is showing 79k Kms from new, although this can't be warranted, has just had a full £6k recommissioning service, drives great and is ready for her next owner!

1971 saw the launch of the four cylinder Alpine A310 at the Geneva Motor Show. Alpine had been an independent company based in Dieppe and later became a subsidiary of Renault themselves. This 2+2 coupe was designed to reach a wider audience than the A110 Berlinette. The basis of the A310 was the traditional, but stronger, Alpine tubular steel backbone chassis , clothed in a strong but light fibreglass shell and driven by a rear mounted engine. The car was initially powered by a tuned 17TS/Gordini four-cylinder engine with 2 twin choke Weber 45 DCOE carburettors. The maximum power was 125 hp. Early cars can be easily recognised by their almost continuous headlamp glasses across the front of the car.

In 1976 the A310 was restyled by Robert Opron and fitted with the newly-developed and more powerful 90 degree 2664 cc V6 PRV engine. This new engine made it possible for the A310 to get on terms with cars of the same standing and lifted the car into the lower echelons of the so called 'super-car' league, where until now Porsche had been the dominant player. The engine was still mounted longitudinally in the rear, driving the wheels through a manual 5 speed gearbox. With 149 bhp on tap, the A310 V6 was Renault's performance flagship capable of 137 mph and (at the time) impressive acceleration. Despite the tail-heavy weight distribution the handling was safe and rewarding. The A310 had great success in French motorsport as a Group 4 car. In 1977 Guy Frequelin won the French Rally championship in an Alpine A310-V6. Production ended in 1984.

Our car was sold new to Germany and was originally finished in the colour it is today, the classic Alpine Blue Metallic, the car was imported into the UK in 2004 and underwent a comprehensive restoration documented in an enclosed magazine article. The owner kept the car for 18 years until she was sold last year to only her second UK owner, who then embarked on a further nearly £6k of servicing and fettling, resulting in the fine looking, and driving little coupe we offer today. Fitted with the 2.7 litre Renault PRV V6 engine The engine in this particular example is in great overall order and benefits from extensive refurbishment and servicing work during its previous ownership, the car was sent to Carnaby Motor Services in Essex first for the fitment of a modified Mazda MX5 steering rack and upgraded bushes, the car then returned to CMS in late 2023 for a circa £4,200 mechanical overhaul which included Conversion to Weber 38DGAS carbs, Oil and filter changes, Coolant flush, Rebuilt rear brake callipers, Steering rack adjustment, Rolling road tuning and setup. As a result the car now drives excellently with no electric issues, Everything works as it should and she is real pleasure to drive!

This is the perfect left field choice, you will not pass another! Right Hand Drive is super rare! The condition, mileage and colours are perfect! This car should be double the asking price and on the continent it probably would be! Be different! Half the price of the equivalent Porsche 911 and twice as cool!
