The Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday retained its National Assembly seat, NA-193, Rajanpur in by-polls held earlier today, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.
As per the preliminary results from all 237 polling stations, PTI’s candidate Mohsin Leghari received 90,392 votes and emerged victorious. His close contender, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Ammar Leghari secured 55,218 votes and stood as runner-up.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Sardar Mohammad Jaffar Khan Leghari who was elected as MNA on a PTI ticket.


RAJANPUR: Mohsin Leghari retained the National Assembly (NA) constituency, NA-193, from Rajanpur for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), inflicting a crushing defeat on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the by-election on Sunday, ARY News reported.
According to unofficial results, Mohsin Leghari won by securing 90,392 votes while Ammar Leghari of the PML-N bagged 55,218 votes. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) trailed third with its candidate Akhtar Hassan getting 20,074.
The by-election was necessitated by the death of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) MNA Sardar Mohammad Jaffar Khan Leghari, who passed away in December 2022.
Taking to Twitter, the PTI’s official Twitter account stated that people have proved in all the by-elections held in the last 10 months that the power of vote rests only with party chairman Imran Khan.
