Renault R.S.01 w/ Nissan GT-R R35 Engine in action at Monza Circuit + OnBoard!

The R.S.01 was a race car built on purpose for the Renault Sport Trophy, Renault's one-make racing series, unfortunately cancelled in 2016 after just two seasons. It's powered by a Nissan Nismo VR38DETT 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with a max power of 558 hp and a max torque of over 600 Nm, linked to a Sadev 7-speed sequential gearbox. Chassis was developed and made by Dallara and the car weighs 1,145 kgs in Trophy form. Renault says the R.S.01 could be positioned between a GT3 and a DTM in terms of performance. After 2016 some teams raced, and still are racing, some of them in those few championships where these cars are allowed under the GT3-class rules, after being detuned and made heavier in order to fit BoP. In GT3 form this Renault has around 500 hp and it weighs 1,270 kgs.
