Under tough, cool, autumn weather, the Encana Cup took place Friday night of the 2013 Spruce Meadows 'Masters'. 24 of the world's best horse/rider combinations passed under the clock tower onto the Spruce Meadows International Ring.

A challenging track laid out by FEI course designer Leopoldo Palacious (VEN) saw only three clears going forward into the jump off. Francois Mathy (BEL), Christian Ahlmann (GER) and young Canadian Ben Asselin battle it our to decide who would take first place.
