Back in 1951 the town of Burnside, Ky (including my great grandmother's childhood home) was flooded in order to make one of Kentucky's largest tourist attractions now known as lake Cumberland. My brother, Fisher Flynn, and I sat down trying to write a song about that, and instead came up with my very first murder ballad.
