Fun with Carnatic music - Dhaatu Varisai Exercise

Описание к видео Fun with Carnatic music - Dhaatu Varisai Exercise

"Dhaatu varisais" are swara (note) exercises in Carnatic music involving fairly complex note patterns that help students develop voice control and understand how to build interwoven swara patterns.

Traditionally, these exercises are initially taught in Raga Mayamalavagowlai. Here is a simple and fun exercise extending the "dhaatu varisai" concept to other ragas. Such exercises greatly enhance the depth of a student's foundation in Carnatic music and act as a stepping stone to manodharma sangeetham (improvisation). This exercise has been performed by Vidya Subramanian and her student.

Vidya Subramanian Academy welcomes students of all ages, learning levels and locations. Vidya and her team of talented teachers offer Carnatic Classical and Indian devotional music lessons in a student focused environment.
