You might be thinking "what do i need to do before hire a logo designer," and that is a perfectly valid question! There is so many things to consider when it comes to designing a logo. You need to understand who your target audience is, what they like, what their lifestyle is, where they live, and even how much money they make, which can give you a lot of insight and data for how to come up with a great logo that people resonate with.

You also need to be thinking about what your brand values are. You will attract a certain tribe to your business or company via your values as well as your brand personality. Financial and insurance institutions have a certain fixed design language they use, which is bold typography mixed with a calming color tone like blue, which evokes trustworthiness and safety. So how will your brand personality best be personified? Maybe with colors and script type? Or maybe something else entirely!

Lastly, you are going to research your competitors so that you know how to either fit in or stand out amongst that competition. You can either fall in and look the part with the other established companies, or branch out and really offer something exotic that your audience is going to enjoy. So all of these questions and points are important to think about before you ever open a design software or hire a graphic designer to make a logo.
