Описание к видео Let's Talk About How We Talk About Fraud | Kathy Stokes | TEDxRiverOaks

In her TEDx, Kathy challenges the way victims of fraud are contextualized and often blamed for falling prey to sophisticated crime networks. Kathy shares stories and offers ways we can reframe the shame that often accompanies becoming a victim to fraud and how we can all be more aware and supportive. Kathy Stokes has devoted her career to the financial well-being of US workers. In her work at AARP, she has turned her focus to helping older adults protect their savings and other assets from fraud. Kathy is a mom to college age twins, a lover of the written word, and a 9-year cancer survivor. She holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MA from The Johns Hopkins University. And she is grateful for the many brilliant minds at AARP and beyond who have researched fraud and called out victim blaming over many years leading up to this TEDx Talk. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
