Exodus Chapter 1 tells the story of how the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. From this chapter, we can derive 7 lesson principles:

3. Oppression can lead to resistance: Despite being oppressed, the Israelites continued to grow and resist their oppressors. This reminds us that oppression can sometimes lead to resistance and perseverance.

4. Those in power may seek to control through fear: The king of Egypt sought to control the Israelites by using fear as a tactic. This reminds us that those in power may seek to control others through fear.

5. God can use unlikely people to accomplish his purposes: The midwives who disobeyed the king's orders and spared the Israelite babies were unlikely heroes, yet God used them to protect and preserve the Israelite nation. This reminds us that God can use anyone, even the seemingly weak and insignificant, to accomplish his purposes.

6. It is important to stand up for what is right: The midwives who stood up against the king's orders and saved the Israelite babies demonstrated the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it is difficult or risky.

7. The consequences of sin can be far-reaching: The story of the Israelites' enslavement in Egypt began with Joseph's brothers selling him into slavery. The consequences of their sin had far-reaching effects that impacted the entire nation. This reminds us that the consequences of sin can be far-reaching and affect not only ourselves, but also those around us.
