Denis Cassiere - Strada Statale 18 (Official Videoclip)

Strada Statale 18 is a song I wrote two years ago and kept it in the archive, together with many others.
Time passed, more impatient material appeared and Bile Bear imposed itself to my artistic plans.
I find it eerie and fascinating that in those lyrics I was petitioning a Statal Street to be kind to my beloved people and pets - especially on Xmas.

Little I knew that a year after writing Strada Statale 18, during the night of Xmas, one of my dogs was going to be killed on the same road by a hurry driver.
("Merry Xmas Zampanò" on my second Bile Bear album "Cage Mates" is informed by this event)

But it would be reductive to acknowledge the magic of this song based on a coincidence regarding only a few verses of it.
I just felt it would be appropriate to mention this anecdote because I thought long about pre-biographical power of songs and I guess I have to accept those events and revelations as mysterious dynamics of the creative process.

I hope you will find your way into it, I am sure everybody has his/her/their own.. Strada Statale 18 and that this might make a good Xmas present.

So, whatever that means, if it's life that we celebrate, and life against all odds, then be it Merry Xmas.
