As per popular local folklores, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it finds its mention in the sacred Hindu Puranas as well. The divine statue of Lord Shiva holds an electric aura that lightens the environment. People from all parts of the country arrive here to admire the statue and offer prayers.

By Air

Chandigarh Airport and Shimla Airport are the nearest airports from the town of Nahan situated 80-85 km and 125-130 km respectively. It would be better to deboard at the Chandigarh Airport (IXC) and from there take a cab or some other means of public transport to reach your destination. 

The airport has good flight connectivity serving nearby regions of Mohali, Panchkula, Punjab, Himachal, and Haryana.

From Delhi - Board IndiGo, Air India flights from Delhi Airport. The airfares will cost you about INR 2,000 - INR 10,000

From Guwahati - Board Air India, IndiGo flights from Guwahati Airport. The airfares are starting from INR 6,000 - INR 7,000

From Silchar - Board Spicejet, Air India, IndiGo flights from Silchar Airport. The airfares are starting from INR 7,000 - INR 8,000

By Rail

The nearest railway station is the Kalka train station that is approx. 100 km away from Churdhar. The station mainly serves the tourists and locals travelling to Shimla. The Kalka Railway Station (KLK) is situated at an altitude of about 658 metres and comes under the management of Ambala Railway division. 

By Road

Tourists travelling from nearby metro cities and local towns won’t find any difficulty travelling via road. One can choose to travel via inter-state and intra-state tourist buses or if not comfortable by buses, then you can choose to travel via taxis or your own vehicle. One benefit of travelling by road is that you get to witness the village life, and farms along the national highways and also the opportunity to taste the local food at roadside Dhabas.
