Modifying or Removing Metadata from PDF files

Описание к видео Modifying or Removing Metadata from PDF files

Each PDF file can include metadata information (e.g. Author, Creation Date, Modification Date, Creator, Producer)

Sometimes we want to keep/improve these information, while some other times we would like to remove them.
1) Removing metadata from a PDF: For instance, you are reviewing a research paper and want to submit your comments as a PDF file. At the same time, because of the Single-blind procedure, the author(s) should not be able to know who the reviewer is. The metadata information can reveal the reviewer's personal information.

2) Adding metadata to a PDF: For instance, you want to put one of your papers online and would like that search engines find and extract correct information from your PDF. So you can add, proper metadata to achieve this. Remember that the metadata can be added to a PDF during the creation of the pdf, for instance when using LaTex.

There are software that help you to modify the meta-data. However, in this video, I demonstrate that you can do all kinds of modifications without any specific software.

In this tutorial, I use Foxit-Reader for viewing the PDF, and Notepad++ for editing it. You can use any equivalent software as you prefer.
