This is PART 04 of How to rig a bird in Maya for animation with Advanced Skeleton

In this free series I have been teaching how to rig a bird. In the previous lessons we set up the joints and built the main rig for the body and wings.

In this lesson we will cover all the skinning and weight painting. I will show you how to only have certain joints affect single pieces of geometry, weight painting techniques and go over what a Delta Mush is.

This will work with any bird model, you can use your own or purchase various 3d bird assets on stock market places

I will NOT be covering how to create feather systems, this is a whole deeper skillset, but you can build a beautiful animator friendly bird right here! and 🔥now all in 4K!
