Описание к видео Yerushalaim shel zahav / ירושלים של זהב (Jerusalem of gold). Composed & performed by Naomi Shemer

Yerushalaim shel zahav / ירושלים של זהב is one of the most beautiful songs ever, composed in 1967 by Naomi Shemer (1930–2004), an amazing Israeli songwriter.

I finally found this clip of Naomi Shemer singing her own song. I believe this is the only available clip on Youtube. If you find another one (sung by Naomi Shemer), please let me know. Thanks.

Avir harim tzalul kayayin The mountain air is clear as wine
Vereiach oranim, And the scent of pines
Nisa beru'ach ha'arbayim Is carried on the breeze of twilight
Im kol pa'amonim. With the sound of bells.

Uvetardemat ilan va'even And in the slumber of tree and stone
Shvuyah bachalomah, Captured in her dream
Ha'ir asher badad yoshevet The city that sits solitary
Uvelibah chomah. And in its midst is a wall.

CHORUS CHORUS
Yerushalayim shel zahav Jerusalem of gold
Veshel nechoshet veshel or And of copper, and of light
Halo lechol shirayich ani kinor. I'm a violin for all your songs.

Ach bevo'i hayom lashir lach But as I come to sing to you today
Velach lik'shor k'tarim, And to adorn crowns to you
Katonti mitze'ir bana'ich I'm the smallest of your children
Ume'acharon ham'shorerim. And of the last poet

Ki shmech tzorev et hasfatayim For your name scorches the lips
Keneshikat saraf, Like the kiss of a seraph
Im eshkachech Yerushalayim If I forget thee, Jerusalem,
Asher kulah zahav. Which is all gold.

CHORUS CHORUS
Yerushalayim shel zahav Jerusalem of gold
Veshel nechoshet veshel or And of copper, and of light
Halo lechol shirayich ani kinor. I'm a violin for all your songs.
