In collaboration with the Wyoming Center on Aging at the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health’s Chronic Disease Prevention Program, our local libraries across the state are now offering self-measured blood pressure monitoring kits for checkout.

This fantastic project started small but quickly expanded to all 23 Wyoming counties, and we couldn't be more thrilled! It's all thanks to the dedication of the library professionals who attended the Wyoming Library Association Conference last year. They saw the potential to not only provide books but also to be vital information and resource hubs for their communities. 📖🌟

These blood pressure kits, available in both English and Spanish, come with everything you need to monitor your blood pressure effectively. From automated home blood pressure cuffs to educational materials from the American Heart Association, these kits empower you to take charge of your health. 💓🏥

But that's not all! Each kit includes a resource directory to local community-based organizations and referral resources to programs like Healthy U chronic disease self-management and Cent$ible Nutrition Program. It's a wealth of information right at your fingertips. 📋🤝

The best part? You can borrow these kits for two or three weeks, depending on your library's policy, and even renew them if there are no holds. It's a convenient way to track your numbers and keep your healthcare team in the loop. 🔄👩‍⚕️

This initiative is essential because nearly half of adults in the US have high blood pressure. In Wyoming, more than 30% of adults have been told they have high blood pressure. These kits give you the power to monitor your health and improve your well-being. Knowledge is power! 💪🧠
