Can you digitize handwriting for machine embroidery? yes! Yes you can and there are many ways to make embroidered handwriting beautiful!

In this video, I am doing to start with a simple way to digitize handwriting. I am using Wilcom Hatch Embroidery 2 in this video, but if you have any other embroidery software that you can create your own embroidery designs, you can do the same thing. All you need to use is a running stitch to start off with - and you can get fancy and create different stitches to change the look of the digitized handwriting. I will be doing videos PEDesign 10, Embird and possibly Wilcom E4 embroidery software as well.

In the first embroidery technique, I am using running stitches to create the lettering, following along with the writing. Once you have the running stitches looking great you can change the running stitches to backstitch, triple stitch or any other straight stitch that you want. You can also change it to satin stitch, which will also look fantastic.

The second embroidery technique uses block stitches to create satin stitches. Block stitches are different from regular satin stitches because they can be different widths from start to finish, also you can have a nice tapered end to them, so it will look closer to the handwriting. This may take longer to digitize, but you will be happy with the gorgeous satin stitches. The only thing that you need to be careful with is the size. If you have satin stitches that are too wide, you will get split satin stitches. This does look OK, but I prefer satin stitches that are not split. If you don't like the split satin stitches, all you have to do is make the design smaller so that the satin stitches do not split.

In the next video, we will be working with the Dream Machine 2 (DM2) to create digitized handwriting.

It should be noted that I am using Wilcom Hatch Embroidery 2 with the digitizer level. Any other level will not be able to digitize the handwriting.
