Grande Arche de La Defense in Paris, France. One of the most iconic buildings in La Defense is the Grande Arche, which is a massive cube-shaped building that serves as the western gateway to Paris. Designed by the Danish architect Johan Otto von Spreckelsen, the Grande Arche stands at 110 meters tall and is made of white Carrara marble and glass. It features a giant hollow arch that frames the view of the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées.
The skyscrapers of La Defense are some of the most impressive and recognizable features of this modern business district in Paris. La Defense is home to around 70 high-rise buildings, making it the largest purpose-built business district in Europe.
