Joy Mukherjee, the inaugural chocolate boy of Hindi cinema, charmed audiences with his distinctive appeal, often likened to Hollywood icon Rock Hudson. Born on February 24, 1939, in Jhansi, he kickstarted his career with 'Love in Shimla.' Despite limited success in films, Joy's tall stature, thick hair, fair complexion, and carefree style garnered a dedicated female fan base. Regarded as the trendsetter for going shirtless on screen, he featured in notable movies like 'Love in Tokyo,' 'Ziddi,' and 'Phir Wahi Dil Laaya Hoon.' Apart from acting, he produced films like 'Love in Bombay' and bid farewell to the industry on March 9, 2012, at the age of 73. Survived by his wife Neelam and two sons and a daughter, his legacy endures in the annals of Bollywood.
