Hummingbird Hawkmoth takeoff in Slow Motion

Описание к видео Hummingbird Hawkmoth takeoff in Slow Motion

Hummingbird hawkmoth Macroglossum Stellatarum flying for the first time, in slow motion 240 FPS
Filmed with Casio Exilim.
The pattern is always the same: firts one antenna pops out then the second antenna pops out, then it's ready to fly. It will also poop, move the tailhairs and stretch the proboscis in no particular order before flying. Right before flying it might vibrate the wings for a while. By knowing this it's easy to capture their first flight with the perfect timing, without filming for hours.
