ENGLISH VERSION: Today's Bible Verse (20.08.2025):
VERSE:
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.(PSALM 68:20 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
Blessed be the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death." (Psalm 68:20) Today we will meditate on that verse.
"Is there a way to heaven?" I asked an old man. Many are used to shortcuts and ignore the straight path.
In the New Testament, Simon the sorcerer thought he could buy the Lord’s gift. Peter said, "Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God." (Acts 8:20,21) There are no shortcuts in God’s work.
Some believe that charity, large offerings, or rituals can remove sin. But none of these can. The only way out of sin is through the blood of Jesus. By the right way you say, "Lord, I am a sinner. I have sinned against heaven and against you. I believe that You gave me life on the cross of Calvary. Forgive me, and cleanse me by Your blood."
Once, a man entered heaven’s gates. The angel asked his merit. He thought of church, giving, or living a moral life. At last he said, "The Lord shed His blood and made me His child." At once the gates opened. Beloved, there is no shortcut to heaven. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
In the Old Testament, two men escaped death—Enoch and Elijah. Enoch walked with God and was taken without death. Others around him died, but God took him. What a wonderful testimony!
The world glories in tombs: Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal for Mumtaz, Anna’s tomb is on Marina Beach, Gandhi’s at Rajghat, and Muhammad’s in Mecca. Yet Enoch rose without a grave. Beloved, do not set your eyes on graves—put on the power of life.
Looking at Elijah also, we see that God provides a way out of death.
There is no death in the way of righteousness. Jesus is the ark of salvation, the escape from the second death—the lake of fire.
Scripture says, "Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine." (Psalm 33:18,19) The fear of the Lord gives eternal life and delivers from death.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)
Jesus also said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death." (John 8:51) His words show the way to overcome death.
The coming of the Lord is near. At His return, the dead in Christ will rise first. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17) Children of God, then you will conquer death.
PRAYER:
God of love! Thank You for today’s scripture. Lord, only Your blood can wash away sins. I am a sinner. I have sinned against heaven and You. I believe You gave me life on the cross. Forgive me and purify me by Your blood. Let me, like Enoch, grow in faith that pleases You, and take hold of Your hand daily. Sow faith in me, and remove unbelief. Let it grow strong and fill every emptiness. Help me to live as a witness to others. No matter how many trials Satan brings, help me overcome by Your strength. Give me faith to believe always, faith to move mountains. You are good and kind. Take pity on me and save me. I pray in the name of Jesus, Good Father, Amen!
