Single millennials and dating app users: lend me your ear. Online conversations with potential mates can be exhausting, but they don’t have to be. Reminder: what you allow people to do, they will continue to do. It’s time we discuss our behavior on apps, and how it relates to our experience using the apps. The bottom line is - there’s nothing wrong or weak about putting in effort and being honest with your intentions. I think if more of us had this mindset, a lot of people would avoid wasting their time. Next time you log into your dating app, or even before you create your profile, here are my top 4 dating app DON'TS:

1. Don't lead the conversation with s*xual/superficial favors.
2. Don't ask your match a question that is already answered from their bio.
3. Don't take forever to respond when someone initiates a conversation with you.
4. Don't leave your profile empty with poor quality photos.

If you are still are having issues connecting with your match, keep in mind that there may just not be chemistry in the conversation or that you and your match are not suited because you both are not looking for the same things. Ultimately, you can't make people into who you want them to be. When someone shows you their true colors, let them!
