We get our first shipment of building supplies for our Off Grid House, and there's no turning back now! We are full steam ahead building our little Off Grid House by hand in the midst of our beautiful pine forest. The whole family pitches in to stack a load of sonotube concrete forms, 2x4 lumber, and rebar. We purchased a post hole digger and an 18" auger for the tractor that will be used in the near future to dig the holes for the footers. We grade our off grid house site and learn how to build batter boards. It ends up taking many attempts before we finally get the batter boards correct. We string up our house to square the corners. Justin calculated all the dimensions with Pythagoras Theorem, but we find out we are off by 8 inches and the measurements just don't add up. Our old enemies, the pine stumps, are also getting in the way.
